Now this is A Fast and the Furious movie done right. Finally. This is why you don’t give up on the series despite the last two entries (number eight with the submarine torpedo and number nine with John Cena,) that were both god awful. Because you know that at some point they will get it right again. And this is that point. Jason Mamoa gives us what is easily the best villain of the entire series. He is the number one best thing about this movie, with his flamboyant yet funny, and also maniacally evil persona. But the movie also knows how to have fun with action, with its giant flaming ball rolling through Rome (right over some iconic monuments,) and it’s great connections to Fast Five, which was easily the best movie in the series. This one basically builds off that story, even showing us clips from the movie. The movie isn’t great. The stunts are again ridiculous. But by this point, we’ve come to accept that from the series, and probably wouldn’t accept anything less. We’ve got the Mission Impossible series for the realism version. At least this time, with a Fast and Furious movie, they don’t go to space.
