REVIEW:
How not to make a bank robbery movie. This one is about as dull and boring as it gets. John Boyega is good, and he’s about the only thing good in this movie. He stars here as an unstable man who is out of options, and decides to take a bank hostage. All of that sounds great until you realize there are only two other people in the bank with him for the vast majority of this movie, and none of them talk very much. I don’t need a movie with tons of action. A simple setting is fine. The Tom Hardy movie Locke took place entirely in a car during a drive and was a thousand times more entertaining than this. That’s because that movie had a story which came out through dialogue. With this one, there is very little information and story to learn. Boyega talks throughout the film, which is how we get to see that his acting is strong, but he’s pretty much the only one talking. With no action and little dialogue, this one is way more dull than any bank robbery movie should ever be.
